There are a number of posts detailing the benefits that using a Black Box with a solid state amp will provide (many) and with a tube amp (some, but not as many, and more subtle), but I am curious as to whether the answer remains the same when using a Black Box with a tube pre-amp? Specifically, I'm thinking of a hybrid Evans with the built-in tube pre-amp... would using the BB be complementary to the built in pre-amp, or would it be redundant? (To be even more specific, would I end up selling my BB if I bought the hybrid Evans?) PS. I am a huge fan of the BB. thanks, mp |
