Hi folks,
My first post as a member.
A local is selling his Zane Beck 11 string from the 70's all setup properly so playable 'right out of the box'.
3 pedals 4 knees, solid maple body.
Can you folks comment on a $1600 selling price as being ok or good?
Many thanks. |

The S-11 is hard to come by so if it is in good condition I would think that $1600 is a fair price. But, the condition is everything.

It all depends on the condition. Thats a fair price for an 11 string in good to excellent condition. |

Marty. From the sound of your post your old ZB is practically worthless. But...being the wonderful guy that I am I'll agree to take it off your hands for free and I'll even pay for the shipping to DeLand, Florida. Such a deal! Sounds like my buddy Dave Z. beat me to the punch, though. Best of luck on the sale.

I got it....to be picked up when I return from a business trip in two weeks.
No I'm not selling it just yet though I'm very very happy to own a Zane Beck S-11 serial number 0018.
Regards,
Marty |

Enjoy Marty. ZBs really do sound the best. If you aren't going to give it to me, please post some pictures. I love looking at ZBs. BTW I have serial #0093. Sorry you missed out Dave. Don't you have enough already??? The question is, though, "how many ZBs are (is) enough?" When I had one I wanted two, when I had two I wanted three, at that point I was hit by a bout of bad craziness and I sold #2 and now have one. Now that I have one, I want two...well, you get the idea and can probably figure out where this is going. Everyone have a beautiful day out ther in ZB Land.

Thanks to everyone for the all the positive comments and assistance. I am amazed at this board and the rich amount of knowledge within NEVER MIND all the posts from legends in the playing and manufacture of the instrument.
I am a new player and absolutely love the pedal steel!
My father was from Western Canada and played country music non-stop while I grew up and most summer holidays were trips to see the Grand 'ole Opry while dinners were timetabled around watching Hee Haw.
The piercing runs of Ralph Mooney and Tom Brumley in Bucks Owens' records mean a lot to me as you can see.
I'll be sure to post pics once I've got her home, unfortunately I am away for the next 2 weeks on business overseas. That will be a difficult time.
Thanks again everyone. |
