This is a German made violin from 1979. Has molded hard-case amd bow. Fine tuner tail piece. I tried to capture the damage in the pics. It is in nice shape other than the finish damage you see. Sound is

very good. I'm selling this for someone. I did some looking around on line and it would seem that this model (V131G) is about $1000 bucks new and one this age sells for 250-450. The lady settled with $275 because of the finish damage. PM for purchase and ask Q on the post please Smile

Anyone have a better thought on the price? I know guitars and amps, even drums. Violins are not bag. Confused

Rick, It is unfortunate that there is damage on the top of this instrument. New, a German violin like this is expensive, but this one is a like a used car with a lot of miles on it.
Part of the problem in selling used instruments today is the influx of inexpensive product from China. A new, 1/2 size violin outfit that is decent can be purchased at $159 from a variety of sources. This makes an older, used 1/2 size worth less.
Realistically, this violin might bring $100 to $150 at best because of the finish damage. Hope this is helpful...

Hey Larry J:
Still enjoying that trumpet that I bought from you.
I am getting better each day. It really was a good deal.
Not a Doc Severson yet, but it is fun.

Larry, this is helpful. I really felt that this was worth the $120 that I had on it at my instrument shop. The lady that owns it did some research and decided to up the price. I showed her your opinion and the price is now $130 and $20 shipping to lower 48 a bit more for others. I'll leave it here for 24 hours...then Ebay.
