How to I adjust my D lever that would be the one to the left side of my left knee to have more play going left before engaging the string. Seems like I don't have alot of room there for my leg and I seem to hit it while using my pedals. I have a WBS S-10.
Here's a picture of the underside.

Try backin out that screw at the top of the lever itself. It is almost out of sight on your picture. It looks like a black screw going through the lever with something like a nut or whatever on it so that you can do it by hand. It looks like that screw is engaged enough to push the knee lever towards your leg. If you let it out it should move the lever away from your leg.

Well you can give yourself a little more room; as I see a small gap in the knee lever adjustment on the mount. There's a small set screw with nut on that knee itself and unscrew it and push the knee bar back until it hits that mount. That will give you a little more distance between those two(fairly close) knee levers.
But to answer your question of gaining more slack....basically you unscrew the stop screw for that knee lever(right behind the knee mount itself) a couple turns.....>now that will give you more throw...and too much throw for that E to F change....>so now you must de-tune your nylon tuners for those strings; to pitch desired...and that will create that slack...without having to move pulling points on pullers or fingers.

Am I correct that you are a new player?

After adjusting the lever, make sure when you are activating your pedals, that your knee does not move to the left or right. You should be bending at your ankle and not swinging your knee. This is a common problem when first starting on the pedal steel guitar.

Richard yes very new to pedal steel. I can handle a 4 string and 6 string anymore then that and I'm lost. You know it's hard for us 6 string players to count any higher then that so I been lost for a couple of weeks just trying to figure things out having a hard time finding someone my way to get lessons from I might have to move to texas. Anyway your right I'm swinging my leg to the side thanks for correcting my beginner mistake.
