When I try and use the allen screws to tune the open strings on the zum hybrid, the 5th string doesn't tune low enough...it stays just sharp, and the allen screw goes away from the finger and has no effect on the pitch. Do i adjust the slack of the rod at the pedal? I tried that but it didn't seem to work, even though thats what someone recommended...
Also, the first pedal is very touchy. If i barely touch it, there's a noticable change in pitch, and i have crappy ears. It almost feels like a half stop...Is there a way to correct that?
Thanks,
John |

Which allen screw are you adjusting John? There are 2 sets. There is a row of them right at the top of the changer for each string. This row is located directly above the nylon and brass tuners. These are your adjustments for the open tuning. There is also a top row which is for the split tuners. You can visually see these while setting behind the guitar. They are directly behind the ball end of the strings. I think that this is the one you are adjusting. Try backing this one out a turn or two to where it is not contacting the changer. Now adjust the allen screw for the open tuner down by the other tuners. Clockwise for raising the string and counter-clockwise to lower it. Let me know if all of this babbling helps. |
