On the weekend, always on the browse for Hawaiian records, I came across the LP entitled "Eddie Kamae Presents The Sons of Hawaii0-HO'OMAU". It's a 1979 recording and is very, very listenable. Somewhere, not too long ago, I saw David "Feet" Rogers mentioned, and I don't know if it was on the SGF or not. If there is a link, can someone direct me, or, tell me something about the Sons of Hawaii please. Great stuff.

The HSGA was fortunate enough to have Paul Kim at our convention last year. Wow, what a talent and a nice guy to boot. I have attended concerts and have seen the very talented Denns Kamakahi and his son perform.
I have met and jammed with Bobby Igano at the HSGA convention in Waikiki, who was fortunate to study with Feet Rodgers, I'm told. I play ukulele with Brudda Smitty's group in Waimea, Hawaii on most weekends at his Kanikapila.
Hawaiin music just doesn't sound complete without that one item, the steel guitar.

The group had changed members many time.
After the lost of Joe Marshall and Feet Rogers, the group lost it magic sound.
Ho'omau was done with Eddie Kamae, Joe Marshall, Feet Rogers, and Dennis Kamakahi.
Most of the songs on this album written by Dennis showcasing his music writting ability. |
