Hey guys,
Brand new to the forum...actually a banjo player that use to try to play steel back in the later 70's. My Sho-Bud 6139 Professional has been in the attic for 20 years..just got it out and want to clean it up, add 3 knee levers and get back into playing. Pretty nasty from WD40 used on the under carriage (didn't know that was a bad idea back then)so I need to tear it down, clean it and then do the mods. Does anybody know what type of paint (white) was used underneath the body of Sho-Buds in the 72-73 era..mine is serial number 3583..all original..
Thanks in advance,
Tim |

Tim, my '74 is just natural, as is my '67. The Permanent and the Fingertip have a sort of industrial paint. If your guitar has nice grain/birdseyes/etc. on top, you might consider a natural finish underneath. I do remember that my '72 Pro had white paint. Maybe James Morehouse or Ricky Davis will chime in.

Thanks John,
Mine is probably a 72 or 73 and is white underneath...was just going to try to get it back to the original look.

Really nice collection you have there..if I didn't have so many other guitars, banjos, etc...I would have a large collection of steels too... _________________ Tim Woodall
