On the song "Modern day Drifter" on Dierks Bentley's new record Randy Kohrs is listed as the dobro player. It sounds much more like a slide acoustic guitar instead of a dobro. Anyone know for sure what this was and what tuning he used? This has really caught my ear.

Thanks

Jeremy

Whenever I've seen Randy live he played both lap steel and dobro with the same high bass G tuning. He's a monster...

At IBMA a couple of years ago, Randy was still jamming when everybody else went to bed---and was ready to pick some more when everybody else got up! His intonation is about perfect, and he sings like a bird, too!

Along with all of the other instruments, Randy is known to play acoustic slide as well.

We had Randy and his band perform at our annual free bluegrass concert last May. Randy's style is distinctive, and he's the number 1 session guy in Nashville. Almost anything with resonator on it these days is Randy. Aside from being aa EXCELLENT slide player, Randy is an outstanding vocalist and song writer as well. His good looks could someday land him in motion pictures.
As far as I'm concerned, Randy Kohrs is the top guy in American country music these days. You can quote me!
