Hello forumites. I have a carter d10 #'s 90138031 20 Not sure of the year, Here is the problem.. When I raise the e's with my F lever which raises strings 4 & 8 I can strike the 6th string and and it raises with the 4&8 To the best of my knowledge this is NOT normal. What is causing this? how do I go about fixing it? I've emailed bud at CARTER but I havn't got a responce yet. Just one more thing, When I lower the E's and strike 4 & 8 everything is normal. The 6th string raise maybe 1/4 to 1/2. Thanks For any help. Before I go to trying to figure this out myself I thought It would be real WISE to get some forumite opinions. |

Check that your foot is not pressing the B pedal or resting on it.. |

The next thing to check is how many pulls do you have on the 6th string, you may have something jammed in the changer , like a string end ... |

I've looked at the underneath to make sure everything looks ok,But I havn't looked that close to see if there is a string end or something.I'll go take a closer look. thanks. [/b] |

I had a similar problem with my Carter. It ended up being a string ball end caught in the changer. Although I examined the changer numerous times, I could not see it. Finally it worked itself into a position where I could see it and I was able to remove it. Problem was solved. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Also you might want to take a real good look at the entire control run (knee lever, crossshaft, bellcranks, control rods) and see what happens as you slowly engage/disengage the knee lever to make sure nothing is hanging up and pulling on a control rod that would affect the 6th string. Probably easiest to turn the guitar upside down to check this out... |
