We didn't get it that bad on West End, but the siren did go off pretty late into the night. Last I heard there were 3 casualties in the metro area. |

It was a long night but we really lucked out here just south of Music Row. The siren's were going much of the night it seemed but each of the major fronts moved to one side of us or the other.
I know there was some damage south of us in Williamson county but, like Mike said, the worst of it was to the northeast of us in Gallatin and Castilian Springs. Of course the western part of the state got slammed even far worse than we did here in the mid-state. |

Hey Mike D. and all you forumites whom came thru these terrible tornatos and storms on Tuesday; I'm most pleased that you all are O.K. and didn't suffer any great amount of damage to your property. I'm certain a few of you had the guy above on your calling list; glad he came thru for everyone.. May he give you the strength needed to carry on. God Bless each and everyone of you..Bernie _________________ 2007 Zum S-10; 1967 Sho-Bud [ D-10 ]; 85 S-10 Sierra; 1953 Multi-Kord [ 6 String- 4 pedals ] A Sho-Bro six String Resonator Guitar; Nashville 112 Amp; hilton Vol. Pedal |

We were spared just north of Gallatin. High winds and rain. Bodacious Lightning! Family member says that Lafayette is in ruins. Power out for a day. Others not nearly as fortunate. |

If anyone sees my vacation home going over head, let sombody know, I just bought it last summer, it WAS in Castillian Springs, (Shady Cove), The only thing left is a memory, the bills and a concrete slab! Anyone need a slightly used concrete slab?
The beautiful museum that Stan Hitchcock did the "Blue Highway RFD" show from was destroyed, a half a mile from me. I lost seven neighbors to this storm and 70 folks hurt badly. One little baby was just found , 38 hours later, alive and doing fine.
This is the second storm in 14 months that this country music area has had to endure several deaths. Jessie, of the great bluegrass duo, "Jim and Jessie" of Grand Ole' Opry fame, lives about a mile from me and this devistation is all over his farm, such an unbelieveable shame, you'd have to see it to believe and understand.
The first storm ,14 months ago missed my main residence by a mile, my store Mgr.s house by 500 feet, and Tommy White was picking his little boy up from school when the tornado hit the school. One block away, Bill Golden of the "Oak Ridge Boys" singing group had tremendous damage to his great historic house, built in 1779, actually the oldest house still standing in Tennessee, and Bill had it restored, it's now great,,, but the storm two days ago was many times worse, as I'm sure you all know by now.
I personally want all of you to know how much we in TN. appreciate all you well wishing and prayers, there are still two hundred folks missing in this area according to WSM TV. We are hoping they are OK and just not able to be located, however, the death count is still rising, seems like many were involved in Country Music in one way or another, Our brothers and sisters in a rough spot. And remember the five states around us that are also suffering.
The president will be here Friday to assess the damage, so the airspace is locked down over this entire area,(Nashville to Kentucky) but afterward, or this weekend, I may get some good air pictures of some of our friends property from the air, (with a good co-pilot)
I'll put them in my news letter.

I have a friend who lives in a trailer in Millersville. I couldn't tell from the map, if he was in the line of fire or not. I'm praying that he's ok. |

We're ok here in Gallatin -- thanks for the concern fella's. Yesterday I drove thru Castalian Springs which is 6 miles east of us here and it's not for the faint of heart. I watched some of it on the news but seeing it first hand will break your heart. Many local churches have opened their doors to serve as shelters and I couldn't help but notice the shock and dismay on peoples faces while driving around ... just terrible. I've been thanking my lucky stars the last two days for sure ... too close to home! Thanks again to all for your thought's and good wishes. |
