Could this be Thumbs with Tex Williams? He sure plays a swingin' solo. It also looks like a Bigsby Steel guitar to his left.

if he is playing like thumbs it could be Dickie Phillips played about like thumbs and worked with Tex Williams.

Thanks for the info guys. So it must be Dickie on guitar, not Thumbs. Also, i got an email from Jon Kurnick about this. He says;

"Dan-sounds great but if this was the early 50's, Thumbs would have been 18-20-kinda looks like him-definately Billy Liebert on accordion-this could be from Hometown Jamboree- doesn't appear to be Hensley on fiddle-thanks,jon"

The steel player on the Bigsby is Wayne Burdick.

I couldn't get the LINK to work so it would play..........BUT...

If you go to the photo page, you can see a photo of Dickie Phillips with Tex Williams band when it appeared in Portland, OR way back when........

It will be on the photo pages of the jbfc and will give you a possible comparison. OK?

I posted about this elesewhere. The singers with Tex are Jimmie Widener on guitar and Deuce Spriggens on bass. Max Fidler is the lead fiddler, Warren Penniman on drums, Wayne Burdick (on Gibson Electraharp, not Bigsby), Ossie Godsen on vibraphone. And Dickie Phillips on backwards guitar.

I don't recognize the accordionist, the other guitarist, and the other fiddlers.
