Where do you all buy single strings?
Are there vendors that will mail order individual string gauges?
Trying to buy the gauges that I need at local music stores has become a real pain in the ol' patootee.
I'm specifically looking for .022p, .034w, .038w.
Thanks for any help _________________ Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else |

I try to buy everything I can from my local music store except strings for a Pedal Steel.
Buying single strings from your local music store most time is not a good idea. The strings have been in a shoe box not sealed and have become oxidized because they have been there for a long time. Buying packaged sets for the Pedal steel at your local music store you will run into the same problem. They just don't sell fast enough. Order sealed packages of single strings usually a set of 6 or 3 to a pack)(some companies pack them in sets of 10)from a company like Musicians Friend etc. or have your local music store order them for you. When you open them up put the remainder in a freezer bag and push as much of the air out as you can and seal and store in a dry place. Strings like food is spoiled by air and moisture. |

You can order your strings right here on the forum. You can get sets or individual gauges. Check out the forum catalog. Also free shipping and very prompt service. That's where I've bought mine for the last few years. |

Thanks!
Bob, I don't know why I didn't see the "Catalog" tab on the vendors page before. Thanks for the help. The SGF is offering exactly what I am looking for. _________________ Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else |

Caution! Whatever you do.. Don't buy any of the strings off of a few on Ebay, like I had done.
Bargain prices are not always bargains at all.. My own fault though. I wrote and asked before buying them, if they were old stock, and he wrote back and said yes! But that was all he said. He forgot to mention that quite a few in each pack, had severe rusted spots on them.
I always put a packet of moisture remover inside with my strings. It keeps them like new. |

Actually, just click "Strings" at the top of any forum page. It goes to the same place.
The strings don't have time to grow old on our shelves. We actually have a hard time keeping everything in stock. There's a big demand for Jagwire singles. We usually get a new shipment every two weeks. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |
