Some of you might want to know that I contacted John Fabian at Carter Guitars about an issue with my Carter D10. He was very cordial and made a fine effort to work out all the details of solving this so that we both would be happy with the results. I see a very good chance of a positive solution based on our talk. I just wanted you guys to know this. A good report always works to keep things in balance. |

Excellent Bill, two fine folks working it out together.
For those who have not listened to Bills new tune up on the Charles Tilley website, you need to go there and listen.

Thanks Tony.
I would add that the MP3 on Tilleys site is recorded on lap steel. I have been working with the Leavitt tuning to try to get some E9 sounds. If you do a search in the "Steel with no Pedals" section of the forum there are some other songs on there also. |

Not too many guys are willing to drop whatever they're doing, and help solve a problem. John AND Bud have always gone the extra mile, at least for me! |

No if, ands or buts with the CARTER folks. That's what makes them the #1 steel guitar dealer in the world. You'll know exactly everything(info) they have available before, during and after a transaction. Good business with one of the greatest builders in the world, Bud Carter building guitars! |

I cannot add or take away from their service, my guitar has never needed anything, ever time I called they have been more than helpfull, I ask a question to John and he had the answer off top if his head with out even having to think about it. I ask about the guitar I bought from Garland Nash, he gave me the history with out looking up the records.
That sounds like service to me., Year it was made and returned to factory for BCT upgrade.

I have only had one dealing with Carter. Bud was
a great help but when I ordered parts Ann was a
@#$%^&*. Had heart burn BAD.
If someone gave me a Carter guitar I would
burn it in the front lawn after calling the
neighbors to watch !!

Calvin, when there are three Bills posting, be more specific as to which one you're referring to when you agree or disagree. |

I have heard from several people, that ann can be a little, tough to work with. Of course maybe they all just misunderstood her..... |

tuff crowd, Bill H posts where he is getting a fine resulution to an issue of concern, all it took was a converstaion, The thread stays positive, until..
once again we go back to burning a Steel on the front lawn..
Well first off, Ann doesn't build or participate in the manufacture of any Steels, so if you feel dissed by Ann you will burn the Steel that was built by one of the premier builders in the World ?
And Calvin, as long as you decided to join this thread , as usual , lets go back. I recall you had a very early Carter Starter, first issue I believe, several years ago. Those did have issues which Carter acknolwledged. You went to Texas, then you got bugged because they attemted to sell you a PRO Steel. Am I close ?
I suspect that this entire board recognizes a few names of "ANTI" each time they appear. Many of us have come to expect it. But the NEW readers should also know that the story is the same one from years back . Some of you are walking in WORN shoes.
At least be honest when you post and give the readers the timeline of the issue so that they can tell if it was yesterday or 4 years ago.
Whats even worse is those that join an ANTI discussion and have no personal experience with said vendor. Tell your story, don't retell someone elses with a new spin.
I have personally owned 3 different Carter D10's ( 1 current ) each purchased from the original owner, I did not purchase them from John, Bud and Ann . They still treat me like family and the truth is I am not really a Carter customer, I own Carter Steels but I am not there direct customer.(yet) They basically owe me nothing , but yet they assist me with any questions I may have, of which I have had plenty. |

Ann actually called me yesterday just to make sure everything was fine with the guitar. She has a nice voice. Probably a babe. I like a girl with an edge.
Again, I had some guitar issues with the Carter folks, but after a bunch of emails and a good open, businesslike phone conversation, everything was worked out. |

Glad to hear that Bill, it's always best if it can be worked out. Let me put it this way, i wouldn't want Ann on my sales, or customer support team. |

You folks are cruel.
John and Ann Fabian are my friends, but even if they weren't I wouldn't publicly talk trash about another man's wife. It's just not right.
And that's my opinion. |

Wow! Give the lady a break. She's really a sweetheart when given the chance. I've never had a problem with Ann. She doesn't deserve this. |

Ahh, the cacophony of nattering, nabobs, of negativity.
I find it rather churlish, childish, cowardly, boorish, etc. that you would sit in a far away room and "dis" Ann.
Feedback delivered to us in a constructive manner can and has resulted in improved service and products. Feedback delivered as a rant looks like just another drive by shooting at the Carter gang by the usual suspects.
