For Walter Stettner and other Lloyd fans, I saw Lloyd with Charlie Pride on the Welk show in Phoenix a couple of days ago. I don't know when it was taped, but Lloyd was so young I didn't recognize him until they announced his name. He was playing what I think was an early Sho-Bud. It was finished in that early sunburst.
Anyway, I thought maybe somebody out there didn't know about this and might want to try to get a tape of it. _________________ Steel crazy after all these years.

Dave,
I watched it to see Charlie, and then was surprised that they put the steeler right next to him. Then as they started playing, I realized that the steeler was great, but I couldn't tell who it was. When they announced his name, I was surprised that I couldn't even recognize Lloyd Green.
I'm sitting here wondering what it is about his playing, and how to describe it, but words fail me.
Charlie was great, too. He always was. There was nobody like Charlie. |
