I'm going to sell my Gibson Royaltone, but I can't find enough sale history to get a feel for what I should ask. It's in good condition (typical beat-up-for-its-age condition) and all original except for the tuners, but I still have the original tuners somewhere.

Any ideas?

Jim, it's worth about $800 - $1,000.

Interesting. Thanks, Rick. I imagine that's retail, since there's one at Gryphon listed around $850 IIRC.

I'd be happy to get $500 out of it. Maybe I should try eBay.

That's an unusual design. And the fact that it's a Gibson should attract collectors as well as players.

Actually Gibson produced 2 Royaltone models that were very different. Jim's is the first version manufactured in 1950-52 with a total of 607 shipped. I sold my first version Royaltone last year for $550 on eBay.
The second version was released in 1956 however only 67 were shipped. It has a guitar shaped body with a mustard yellow finish and IMHO not as attractive as the first version but obviously a bit of a rare bird.
