Most of my tabs will be pretty simple. There's lots of really great lap steel courses out there so I won't be trying to duplicate any of those. In these tabs I'll just be showing some neat stuff I've found. Some tabs will be extremely basic scales and licks. Some will be a little more advanced, like this one.

I use the C6 tuning with either a bottom C or C# depending on the song. Putting a C# note on the bottom of the tuning adds a lot of chords and doesn't interfere with the flow of many songs.

If you're not into chords, just forget them for this tab and enjoy the sounds. This tab was played with just a thumbpick, kind of like strumming the strings.

There's now a lap steel page on my website and it will include all these tabs in order. But it will not include all the discussion that occurs here!

Click here to see/print the Adobe.pdf file.

Click here to listen to the song.

My web site featuring over 295 mostly pdf formatted tabs with sound files.

What do I have to have to hear the song with my Imac? Whenever I "Click Here" to hear the song, it downloads and shows a page of code. A real long page of code. This is what Kansas City Blues looks like-

For some reason my reply above didn't completely get posted. The download is a WMA file and is opened with Text Edit. I'm using an Apple Imac and haven't had any problems before downloading music.

Jude,

I have a lot of IMAC users listening to my tunes! Go to the Windows Media Player web site and get the latest version for your MAC.

Another option, if you have trouble with that Windows Media Player for MAC, or don't want to install another media player:

Download and install "Flip4Mac" which will let you play Windows Media Files (WMA), WMF and ASF files in your Quicktime player, and in the quicktime web plug-in in your browser (it's free):
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/flip4mac.mspx

I've had no problems listening to Greg's tunes on my Powerbook. OS-X 10.4

Thanks Ali, I downloaded the Flip4Mac and it works very well. Now I can enjoy Greg's work. Thank you too Greg for making it available.
