Hate to say it but what a strange list with only 26 of the hundred plus that passed away this year, and not even some of the real big names in the music world.
I get that NPR doesn't like to recognize Country/hillbilly or much pop, but when they make a list so heavy with jazz greats that have passed, yet they leave off Johnny Smith and Patty Andrews??
They need to check the ventilation system at NPR, because they must have some "prescription" medical herbs floating in from the shop next door.
Here are a few I would add to the NPR 26:
Marvin Rainwater
Mindy McCready
Patty Andrews
Claude King
Alvin Lee
Jack Greene
Slim Whitman
Cowboy Jack Clement
Tompall Glaser
Cal Smith
Eddie Bond
Magic Slim
Gordon Stoker(last of The Jordanaires)
Mac Curtis
Marshall Lytle(bass with Bill Haley & His Comets)
Johnny Smith
Eydie Gorme
J.J. Cale _________________ http://www.oldbluesound.com/about.htm

Add sweet jazz giant Yusef Lateef @ 93 to the unfortunate list. |

All I get is a blank space when I click on the link.
Did they mention Jackie Lomax? _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

I thought is was good and encompassed many genres of music.
It was nice that they ended it with Ray Price 'For the Good Times' _________________ Regards, Craig
