Enjoyed the You Tube videos. You're a mighty fine musician and a lot of variety and creativity. It was refreshing, to say the least.
Where did you manage to find such a really great bass man and drummer? Both really fine. Must be a joy to have the opportunity to play along with them. |

I wish we could hear you pick without the background noise from the bar. |

Nice to see a drummer who know how to play a rimshot! Bassman is good on that Doghouse too! Good rythm section. Good playing on the steel Joel. Overall an A+. Ray _________________ Ray Qualls

Wow,
thanks guys for all the nice feedback! Thanks for taking the time to watch the clips.
Many of you are asking about the band. Dave Biller (the best guitar player around for my money) said in his post, "I want my bass player back"- he is talking about Beau Sample. Beau was one of the busiest bass players in Austin- and lucky for me he recently moved to Chicago. We have a trio starting up with Alex Hall, who is a great drummer and also a talented recording engineer. We just recorded an album of steel guitar instrumentals which I should have out within the next couple of months. I am very lucky to play with these guys because they can play any style. We do a big mix of Blues, Jazz, Rockabilly and Steel instrumentals.
Hey Dennis, I took steel lessons from Ken Champion. He is an awesome player and the best teacher around. |

Hey Joel, Great picking.
You might want to also post this under "Steel On The Web"
That is the central spot on the forum to let everyone see your picking. I have found that many forum members go to that section before anything else.

Thanks Bill,
I'll post it over there, also. I don't know why I've never noticed that section. I always go right for "For Sale". I gotta break that habit one of these days! |
