Hi, On my melobar 6 string lap (tuned standard dobro tuning) when I tune the 1st and 3rd open strings to a fifth and then play up the neck on these same two strings, they are out of tune with the 3rd string being flat. I have to slant the bar backwards to compensate. It seems I have to slant more with this steel than others. Any suggestions? Thanks

First, change your strings - old strings can be unpredictable. Then, does it have an adjustable bridge? Check intonation if so.
