Happy New Year all! Here's the big news.

My new Ukulele/Hawaiian Steel CD 'Moonlight And Shadows' is entered in the 2008 Hawaii Music Awards!

Pretty cool eh? Cool

I need your vote.

Winners of the Hawaii Music Awards are determined by popular vote. You vote by visiting the Awards website, entering your email address and choosing your favorite artist - me.

You can vote once a day between January 14th and February 4th 2008. Please vote early and vote often.

Winners in each category receive a trophy and are invited to Honolulu for a gala awards banquet (all winners must purchase their own airfare and hotel while in Hawaii - bummer). Rolling Eyes

Here's how to vote (it's very easy, but I'll detail all the steps below)
1. Surf to http://www.hawaiimusicawards.com/
2. Click the flashing "Vote" box.
3. Enter your email address and press the submit button.
4. Scroll down to the Ukulele category and click the link.
5. Check the box next to Gerald Ross - 'Moonlight And Shadows'.
6. Press the 'Submit Vote' button on the bottom of the screen (you'll be sent to the next category).
7. Click the 'Review and Submit Your Vote' link at the bottom of the category list.
8. Enter the validation code and press the submit Vote button.

That's all there is to it - easy.

Thanks for your support - I'll bring you back some macadamia nuts if I win. Maybe I'll steal the centerpiece from the banquet table. Laughing

Musically yours,
Gerald

Thanks,

It's not really a nomination. It's more of an entry into the ukulele category. All "Hawaiian" CD's produced in the calendar year are eligible.

Just submitted my vote Gerald...maybe you could swing by Sydney and pick me up on your way to Hawaii? Tell your wife I promise to behave!

Congratulations on your CD and the recognition it is receiving.

Best wishes to you in this competition. You'll have Sally and my votes.

Having been a sideman in this competition and having shared in the excitement and having taken first place three years in a row, I'm sure our friends here at the Forum played an important roll in 'our' success.

I'm counting on everyone here, all 4,000+ members, to rally to your cause and to take those very few minutes to cast their vote in your favor.

To your success!

Not to show any disrespect for a truly wonderful guy but.......

the wife was wondering if we could trade 'such a date' at the next Joliette thing-a-ma-bob, for a tour through the local prisons they have there? She tho't it might be interesting. (?)

For our date I will expect a trip to Paris with filet mignon or beef wellington as my main course with crepes suzettes as desert. Razz

You know I have already voted for you and it may be my vote that swings it to you for a win. Cool

Good luck!!

After I get my flight and hotel I'll have just enough money left over for some Spam sushi from the ABC store. But what's mine is yours!

To all my faithful voters:

Make sure you COMPLETE your ballot for each voting sessionby following steps 6-8 detailed in my initial post.

The Hawaii Music Awards voting process is very convoluted... After you submit your vote you must press the "Review and confirm your vote" link on the right side of the screen. That will send you to another screen where you enter a validation code and press yet another button.

Sorry for the confusion.
