Hi all,
I'm wondering when it's appropriate to replace a volume pedal pot. I got my pedal (Goodrich L10k) used, so I'm not sure how old the pot is. Am I just listening for scratchiness, or will a too-old pot start to lose tone or output level? Maybe it's just my imagination, but I feel like lately the pedal is only working well in the upper half of its range - the lower half just drops off. It seems like it's not as smooth as it used to be. Am I crazy here?

Bryan

Try changing the battery and see if that makes a difference. Although the 10K models have a pot, it's used in electronics circuitry rather than just the "passive" control.

Bryan----some day if you get a chance, get a Hilton electronic pedal and you won't have this to worry with! no pot worries and no tonal loss.---Jack
