My ageing brain is failing me again and I need some help from you folks.

I remember a posting about home made travel lap steels. Strikes me that it was a woman posting and her husband was the builder. Does that jog anyone's memory and if so, do you have a link to the website?

I'm on what seems to be a never ending work assignment in Minneapolis and thought a small lapsteel might pass the time in the hotel room.

Take a look at Industrial Guitar's lap steels. I got one specifically as a light travel lap steel and it works great. Can be played acoustically, but really sings when plugged in. Made of metal so it is almost industructable and will fit in the overhead.

Craig, When I travel, I use a Washburn Rover steel string travel guitar with a metal extender nut. It costs $149 and comes with a great travel case. It fits in the overhead bin. I have used it for front porch jams too.

Thanks everyone! I did find the travel lap I'm looking for one the weneedthemoney website.

I was looking at the Rover, but I WON"T fit in the overhead of the airplanes I take. Continental from Cleveland to Minneapolis is an Embrayer (probably not spelled right) and I can't even get a laptop case in there! They force me to gate check the laptop and it got smashed on the last trip!

I know I'm old, but geeze traveling never was this hard in the past! What do pro's do when they're traveling?

Randy,

Thanks for the offer, but by the time my day ends, you wouldn't want company. The good part about this hotel is that it's right next to the symphony hall and there's lots of people practicing in the rooms.

If I could just get em to play the same piece at the same time
