This is a photo taken back in the 70's of a beautiful ShoBud SuperPro built especially for John Edmed, who was then the co-owner of ShoBud in London.

You can see his initials and edge inlay in abalone. A stunning guitar. I wonder where it is now?

I don't think this photo does the guitar justice in any way. It was apparently 'burnt orange' colour.

It goes to show that there were some bespoke Buds if you were prepared to pay for them.

Ken, there are two steel playing Jim Martins in England, The Jimmy Martin in Braintree Essex has owed John's steel for many many years now. Still looks in new condition. He plays it through a Fender twin. I think he has a bad back now Smile

I was talking about this guitar to Ron Mawn who took the photo. He said "I think Jimmy Martin's got it now". I said that I'd only seen Jim recently and he would have mentioned it to me, as we were talking ShoBuds. Little did I dream that there are 2 with the same name.

That answers that one then. It would be nice to get a clear digi photo of it on here.

Yep Ken, two of them Smile You were talking to Jim (James)Martin from Watford, ex Black cab driver. Used to have all the rest like most of us, ZB's Sho-Buds etc...now on a SD-10 Carter ex Richard Burton from Shrewsbury. Jimmy Martin, the Essex one, did have a M.S.A red baron I recall. He plays good telecaster and Bass too. Small world the British steelies eh?

Thanks for reminding me on the name John. I used to have a "Maine" power head that I used to use for powering our monitors in our band. Tough as anything. Our Bass player had a Bass head. Shame alot of the old amps are non existant these days, like Stramp, and H/H though there is a company in Birmingham that gets H/H amps and reconditions them. I once had one of their combo's....great amp for its day and will still compete today. Still see some on Ebay, and Ted Nesbit in Ireland has a combo on his website.

This steel was originaly mine,i got it from John when he ran the Sho-Bud shop in Denmark St,I did a trade with Jimmy Martin for a real nice ZB D10 many years ago.So it has only had 3 owners from new,I remember i broke 3 of the knee lever cowls, and replaced them all in the end,and it was a beautifull looking steel.
