I have a G&L 4 string bass guitar for sale. I'd like to have $550 for it which includes shipping in the continental United States only! It's a pretty blue finish which shows the wood grain very nicely. It has active electronics on board and a maple neck with very low and easy playing action. At the moment it's set up with the black nylon strings and sounds great. It comes with a very heavy duty black tolex covered rectangular case which is the one which came with the guitar. If anyone is interested and emails me, please note on the Forum that you're interested so I'll know who wanted it first. These basses kick a Fender's butt big time. I had an old Jazz bass before I got the G&L and the L-2000 is a superior instrument in many ways. There are a couple of small dings on top but the finish is still intact with no wood showing through..........JH in Va.

Jerry, I have a G&L L-2000 Fretless Bass that's white with Leo Fender's signature on the upper horn. I wouldn't part with it.I also have a G&L ASAT with Leo's signature, and a G&L Legacy. All 3 are better than the newer Fender instruments. |

I agree with that Kenny, I had a G&L ASAT at one point, the three pickup version that I traded for a standard Fender Telecaster. It goes down on my list of things I wish I hadn't done........JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Hey Jerry
That is one pretty bass there....if it had a rosewood fingerboard I'd be buying it even though they weigh a ton and a half!! In my aging years, I do prefer the flyweight bass I have, a custom made Pbass that weighs in at 8 lbs.
Those GLs sound really good though!!
Stay warm this winter....it's down in the 40's tday in San Jose (I know, not much sympathy from those in real winter climates)

Ooh, I love G&L basses. Hey Jerry, any idea what this one weighs? Some of these are real heavy, some not. If you get a chance to throw it on the bathroom scale, I'd love to find out.
Thanks, bruce t |

Bruce, I just put it on the bathroom scales and it says a hefty ten (10) lbs. I don't know if my scales are correct though..........
John, I'll check the email when I get off the Forum, thanks.........JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

I'm aware of the "Tribute" Series.
I'll rephrase my question:
Is the G&L for sale a "Tribute" Series made outside the USA ? ... or is it "not" a Tribute series and made in the USA? _________________ Jeff Hyman

Please close this thread, I just traded the bass for an Epiphone Casino which worked out well as the reason I was selling it was to buy a Casino.......JH in Va.
Jeff, we don't get up north much. I play around this area a lot and we go to North Carolina on occasion and of course, to Scotty's. If you ever get in the area look me up and I'll do the same if we ever get up there..........JH _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |
