Heavy-metal mag Guitar World has posted their very first issue from June 1980 on their website, you can read it page by page. There's a big feature on the steel guitar, and another article about the "50 Greatest Guitar Albums Ever" has a whole section delegated to steel albums. My how things change.

pp. 28-33 is the article, and 56-57 is the albums. |

Also the articles on Merle Travis, Dan Toler, George Thorogood, fingerstyle jazz guitar, and of course the cover story on Johnny Winter. Yes, things changed very fast from here. |
