About 15 years ago......I rec'd a telephone call to come to a band practice. The request sounded reasonable and the caller sounded intriguing. The facility used was a modern new office/warehouse complex that was neat as a pin.
I was pleasantly surprised when this fellow sang one great olde country tune, after another. His selections were the best, his voice was very good and his sense of musicianship was commendable. He also played a great rythmn guitar. The session lasted atleast 3-4 hours. He was a quality musician.
Allegedly, he was a trucking company dispatcher and/or trucking company BROKER, I can't recall which.
The name he provided was "Milton Freewater" and he headed up "The Milton Freewater Band". By the way, this is a small town in far Northeast Oregon, on a busy highway leading into Washington State. He explained that he had just topped the hill leading down into the sleepy little town when he saw the sign with the village's name emblazened thereon. He was attracted to it......immediately, and thereafter adopted the name for his own/band name.
Has ANYONE.......ever met this fellow, or ever heard of HIM? He was a really nice person and I'd enjoy playing another session with him.
IF YOU....know of him, please let me hear about him. (503)252-9012 |
