I ran across an Emmons D-10 P/P that the only number I can find on it is 6497. It has the semi wide pedals and it is a cuttail I believe. Four bolts hold the little plate on the changer. Does anyone know what year this may be? I was told it was a 71 or 72. The serial number is on the c-6 changer and has no other numbers on the guitar.

Henry, if it's 6497 it should be an early-mid 80's guitar. Photo of pedals would be helpful.

Thanks Herb for the info. I don't know how to post pictures but the pedals are the flat wide pedals and not like the Legrand pedals but they aren't as wide as the older Emmons I've seen like the 66 and other older models. Hope that helps. Thanks---Henry

I had serial no. 6437D at one time and that was supposed to have been a 1983 model.
It had the LeGrande style pedals, black, I think.

I own 6620 and I recall getting it in 1983, but I could be wrong by a year or so. Anyway, it has Legrande style pedals, black.

I also have an early SKH Legrande with semi-polished aluminum pedals, non-anodized. No serial number, so I don't know the year exactly.

Hi Henry,
I found it hard to find the serial number on my Emmons p/p - underneath the guitar on the E9 neck on the side you'd plug in. This might be common knowledge for most forum readers, but helpful for others. Mine says 1267 D.
Any ideas, Herb? My guess is '67 or '68.
Someone once posted a nice chart showing the range of Emmons' serial numbers with the corresponding year
in which they were made.

I have 2895 D which Bryan Adams built in 1981. He was building them at his shop and not at the factory so he could have had the endplates a good while.

Dave Z

I had 1280 D for a while. It is a 1969.

Now I just get the ones with the month, year and number stamped in the guitar -- but only because it is easier to date them that way Wink
