Thanks so much for the kind words Jody!
You are a prince among men.
I'm glad you finally got cable out there so you can check out all this stuff.

And thank you Jay.

This is the MP3 file - MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW.
The audio quality is somewhat better than in the video.

Good job Rick. I didn't know you could sing like that, and look pretty cool while doing it.

Howard..I thought the same thing..however everything I posted about Rick's ability is my honest to goodness feeling..he is versatile and a fine musician and someday for his efforts in his teaching those who need the help that few offer to the novice steel player..he has my vote for the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame. And that is my honest opinion..didnt mean to get in on your post Howard..I meant no harm...PS there are many who deserve to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame for their backround..Rick has many years of playing in clubs and honky tonks and yet..he has what it takes to given consideration for the honor or at least recognition for induction...Have to listen again and get turned on by that great effort of Rick's

Thanx

Hawaiian, Rock, Western Swing and now Bluegrass! What's left Rick? Your definitely coverin all the bases with this one. I dig the fact that your not locked into any one style and can venture into something totaly different like that. Jodys right on about you bein a versatile musician. Keep up the good work. You Rock! Very Happy

Don, okay buddy - where & when is the next party?

Thanks for the kind words Gary!

Andy, I truly appreciate that. Um, next . . let's see - how about Exotica, or maybe New Age

Hick, thank you for that my friend.
Well, there are 2 acoustic guitar tracks, 1 dobro, 1 banjo, 1 bass, 3 backup vocal and 1 lead vocal.
Then I used a separate track for each of the 3 solos, so that's 12.

Hi Rick,
Nice job! I can tell that the arrangement was a labor of love. Like Mike mentioned, I like the guitar collection in the background. Reminds me of some of my favorite music stores. See you in Dallas!

G-man, you're right - I guess roots is what it's all about.
Oh sure I branch out from time to time, but then osmosis takes over and I'm back to my roots!

That's my new band - "The Swinging Smileys"!
Seriously, just do a google search for smileys - there are tons of them out there. They even have porno smileys now . .

I used to do that all the time when I played honky tonks . .

You mean the smileys or the tune? Well, I reckon they both are.

That was the lunch menu - I couldn't decide between the beachburger or conch fritters.

Thanks guys!
I figured as long as I had the dobro and banjo warmed up, I'd put a little instrumental piece together - it's called "Fledgling"
Here is the page with pics and embedded MP3.
Here is the MP3 itself.
