Does anybody have the full copedant with pedals and knees? All I really need is what the C# string is doing with a pedal or knee if at all. I know the tuning has the C# (5th string) between E and B or correct me if I'm wrong. I'm reading the new Buddy Emmons book and the tuning is mentioned. I knew he played a 12 string on the "Rainbow" album but not the tuning. Anybody? |

It's just E9th with the C# in the middle and a low E on bottom. It just had his usual E9th setup. I played the guitar a few times but don't remember if he did anything with the C#. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Es S12 setup is in appendix B page 212 in the paperback.
It shows C# to D on an inside RKL.
For 13th tunings though I'd look at Johnny Cox D13 variations, I think he's onto something. I hope to sit on one of those tunings one day to check it out otherwise gonna be a spendy experiment for me. |

It's pretty much same as Buddy's except I tune my 2nd string to the dominant 7th and the entire tuning is a whole tone lower. I started with E13th but the timbre of the swing and jazz (C6th) stuff was too high pitched. D is a great middle ground for E9th and C6th.

I've taken the plunge and ordered a D13th Williams. Yes, it's a little spendy, but it's my retirement project and probably the last instrument I'll buy.
Mine has variations to suit me. It reflects, as far as possible, my current D10 8+9 setup. Like Johnny's, mine is Day - always my preference.
