For those that sight read music, the music notation is their key to the musical world.......For those (like most of us)that play by ear or heart or tabs.......Happy New Year!!!!!!And we still have cake and cocktails and we all know how to make a guitar player turn down(old joke)put sheet music in front of him!!!!!!! Very Happy Very Happy

I learned to read music almost 40 years ago and have never once regretted it. I wished I would have learned to play by ear the same time though. Mad
Anyway happy 937th birthday little musical note. Razz

I'd like to hear more about this famous date in history too. Who was involved and where did this take place? I've never even heard about a specific date in history in connection with "the first note".

Alan, I think he means somebody has pinned down the first use of standard written music notation to that date. I have no idea how they know this, but that sounds like a plausible era.
