Steel to VP to DD3 to a 1 male 2 female Y cable or an AB box then to your Amps. _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

Hello Russ,
I recommend that you connect the output of your Mullen guitar to the input of the Hilton pedal. Then connect from the output of the Hilton pedal to the input of either the 400 or the 112, depending upon which amp you wish to be your master amplifier. Then, using another instrument cable, connect from the PREAMP OUT on the 400 to the POWER AMP INPUT on the rear panel of the 112. Or, you can reverse this connection(PREAMP OUT on the 112 to the POWER AMP IN on the 400) depending upon which amplifier you wish to use the frontpanel controls as a master.
If you have further questions, feel free to call me toll free at 1-877-732-8391, ext. 1180.
Thanks,
Mike Brown

When you connect with the preamp out of either of those amps, does that disconnect and bypass the power amp and speaker of that combo? |

HI Dave, I'm not sure I Know that you only have contol of the knobs of the one amp that you use for the master it seems as though you only add the speaker to the other amp _________________ Russ Kern |

Whichever amplifier that you plug your guitar into will be the master set of controls and will control both power amps and both speakers of both amplifier. Only one set of equalization controls will work. |

Russ,
I would prefer to take advantage of each of the amps tonal capabilities and connect them as Bill Dobkins mentioned. His method also gives a pseudo-stereo effect which can give you a very FAT and spacially pleasing sound.
With no disrespect to Mike, the method he presents only adds the power of the second amp.
Try each of the methods yourself with both of the amps about 6 feet apart and behind you....you'll hear. _________________ Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else |

I totally agree.............it's subjective. However, for convenience, it is easier to control both speakers/power amps from one set of controls. Just an option. |

The DD3 has two outputs, (right and left) doesn't it? If so, go from the guitar to the volume pedal to the input of the DD3, then from the outputs of the DD3 to the instrument inputs on each amp - one cable to each amp. You will have full use of the controls on each amp. |

Guys, before 2 weeks ago I would have agreed with ya'll. I tried my DD3 into the FX patch on front of my recently mod'd nashville 400 and what a difference from running it between the volume pedal and the amp input. Cleaner tone, better FX, what a diff. Try it. By the way Curt Langston had a post on this Dec. 17th referring to Mike Brown's post from Jan 25 2002 about this.

Wayne |

I use the 2 outputs from the Hilton one cable goes to the input of the dd3 out to the normal input of 1 amp, the second output from the foot pedal goes thru item simular to the black box to the other amp set one amp thin the other thick I like that sound very well, many have come to me at the show and said I had a very good sound, about 29 people from the last 2 shows, Russ and Joe turner was 2 of them. At Saluda a lady got out of her car as we were leaving and came over and said you had a very good sound on your set, same show that Russ Hicks and Joe said my Carter spunded so good with my set up.
Vegas 400 with Ken Fox Mod. I am going up Sat. and have my last amp modded.
We are going to install a horn on this amp and see how it sounds. Just one of my hair brained thoughts. Ken has two speakers set up on polls in the shop he bought from Larry Sasser that belonged to Hal Rugg, he uses those to test drive amps with the mod before putting them back into their cabnets, they sound so good we are going to experment and see how it works. on a Vegas.
