I noticed This the other day and ordered it from Rick Alexander. I liked the Tuff Fun Tab and after talking to Rick I figured this should be good. The package arrived today and from what I have seen this looks to be a great training tool.

There are 4 DVDs and one CD with back-up tracks. See the link for more information. there are no tabs in this. I kind of like that idea since I have been working on more improvising rather that following tabs.

This seems to be well thought out. I have just scratched the surface on what is inside. Basically, just watching the videos so far.

If you get a chance, check this out. Since so much of the lessons on that site are for pedal steel I didn't want anyone to miss it. As I get into this more I will report back.

I'd be interested in hearing....er...reading about it, Gary. Mr. A seems to have some interesting stuff up his sleeve not to mention Mr. R, with whom he often seems to be collaborating these days.

Thanks Gary - man it got there fast, especially for this time of year!

I had a lot of fun doing this project, it took a while to complete, as you can imagine.
12 songs explained - broken down note by note, chord by chord.
The theme that runs through it is knowing where all the chords are for each song - all the inversions, grips , positions etc.
This is so important for playing melody, harmony, improvising & accompanying a vocalist or other instrument . .

Pieces Of Steel has 4 DVDs in all - 3 DVDs of 130 how-to clips, and 1 DVD of the 12 songs being performed at gigs & shows. There is a CD with backup tracks for all 12 songs, and chord charts printed on heavy card stock.

Edward, all the info is on this page.

I have had a chance to watch most of these videos now. These are very detailed. Looks easy to follow.

Since it has been crazy here I just got my music room back today. Nothing has been hooked up since August. George is all tuned up and ready to start tackling these songs.

Great job Rick! As always, very professional.

Now "T0" the woodshed.
