DVD #1: "The Hawaiian DVD" This DVD is in 2 parts. The first half hour is a show called "Hawaiian Music, A National Identity in Sound" in which Billy Hew Len, along with Myra English and Sonny Chillingworth perform a live half hour set in the Blue Dolphin room. Billy plays great. The second half hour is a mini documentary on the History of Hawaiian Steel as told by Jerry himself. This show is a must see with Jerry Byrd, Barney Issacs and Alan Akaka.
DCD #2: The Second Hawaiian DVD" Starts with an outside concert with a band I don't know but Barney Issacs is the steel player and does some real nice work.
The second part is priceless. It's a concert in the TV studio of Jerry with Hiram Olsen and others. Jerry plays Kama Kahi, Kewala Chimes, Anytime Anywhere, My Little Chickadee, Wai Ulu and Sand. Great camera work, lots of closeups of his hands.
The third part is an interview with Jerry about his life.
Check over on "For Sale: Music etc" for ordering info.
