I bought one of those Proper box sets called Hillbilly Boogie, which has some great tracks on it.

I was listening in the car and on came this one piece called the No Shoes Boogie by Charlie Harris.

Out of nowhere came this incredibly rocking steel solo. I was thinking, wow...now that guy knows how to play rock and roll.

Finally got home and looked up the steel player: Herb Remington. Could have knocked me out.

Bill Haley and the Comets (Rock Around The Clock) had a steel guitar player in the band.

I will admit after 4 cds of hearing.. "I've got the __________ boogie!" I got a bit tired of hearing it!!!!!! (fill in the blank with any song title). Still a great box of discs.

All those western proper box sets are great. I have about 15 of them. The flea market near my house sells them for $10-12 each! I would recommend the 2 western swing ones and the hollywood cowboy one.
