Why is it you do not see the RG300 on ebay or anywhere else anymore for sale, I tried searching for info on them but cannot find them.

I think there weren't many made. The Randall amp was a great amp. People who bought them don't get rid of them for that reason. JMO

Thanks Jim for responding, I came to that thought about them, my friend has an older model RG300 head amp which he can not find any info on either, I was wondering if there were any upgrades to these amps out there and who would be able to perform them?

I think that Stephen Silver of the Forum used to have one of those, he might still have it. I have a Randall Steelman 500 that's pretty close to it. That might have been what replaced the RG-300. I also have an old RG-80 which is a cool little S-12 amp. Randall makes some great equipment. One of my favorite steel amps I've ever had was a Randall Commander II solid state amp in which I replaced the two 12" speakers with an ElectroVoice 15". Unfortunately if was stolen from a club I was working......JH in Va.

I have a RG 300 that I have had for almost 25 years it is a great amp.It still has the 15 EV that it came with. Never had a problem with it. There was one in a pawn shop here but I think it is gone. I will check.

Randall,

Telle me more about the RG300 that you have. Also, where abouts are you from? I was just curious since you said that there was one in a Pawn Shop where you live.

Any info is much appreciated!!!

Thanks so much,

Casey

I purchased an RG-300 the other day. It's fairly slick...but I might be interested in selling it.

Does anyone know if the grey striped Randall’s are the same FET circuitry as the original orange stripe amps?

Have had one for time measurable in decades. It has a 15" Altec Lansing speaker which makes a great combination.
Never ever wanted to sell it but now it's too heavy to even think about using any more.

They are an underrated sleeper in the steel guitar amp universe.

I guess orange is as close a color name as anyone can come up with.
