To basic, right? You already know it right? Don't insult my int...., right?

The thing is, when I came back to trying to learn steel, that is exactly what my thoughts were. I know this, I don't need to give it another thought. Wrong!

This is it! As basic as it gets, and that's all there is in western music. Seven notes, how can that be possible?

You can go a half step up, a half step down, pedal into them, pedal out of them, slide into or out of them, sneak into um, slam um, bounce on um, pick um hard or soft, bar quiver in or out, play um one at a time or two, or a whole hand full, fast or slow, but that's all there is. And your saying, I knew that, too.

The point. If your just starting or close, or maybe like myself and have gaps in your music learning experiance, make this one of the next things you "Master". Not so much the playing of them, as the knowing of them. The playing will come.

Again, just my personal thoughts. DS
