What makes this steel so valuable?
It looks like a model 102 with legs.
Is there something special about this one or
is this just some Ebay fluke? Auction on eBay.

Hey Rich, your link just pops up "my" Ebay favorites. You need to post the auction's link.

Cheers, Ron

It's a bidding war between two people (docdjf and postcat). Everyone else wisely dropped out around $360.00, which is closer to what this thing is actually worth.

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't a bidding fraud to get the price way up. Geez...

I think you guys are right about what it's worth. That pickup is wasted on that piece of wood.

I have that same guitar.
It's a nice sounding steel, lots of punch and fat tone. Gary Brandin has one that he converted to an 8 string, and I believe that's what he used on the Vanduras CD if I'm not mistaken.
I paid $175 for mine about 6 years ago, so $360 would be about right.
$1346 - that's more than I paid for my DW-16! It's just crazy . .

There is a red one at Inter-Mountain Guitar and Banjo in Utah for $350. This guy must have $$$$ hidden in the case for $1300+

Saw that bid earlier in the day. Thought someone mis-tapped a number on their keyboard by MISTAKE. Evidently, I'm off the mark.
