i was peeking around ebay and came across this little number: Auction on eBay.
it looks to be in a bit of disrepair, but what exactly is it? a 6 string pedal steel? Who would have used such a thing?
my guess would be someone just played it like a console steel since the pedals seem to be disassembled, but what do you guys think.

Matt.
It is,indeed,a "Multi-Kord",or what's left of one. It seems to have only one changer left, one pedal missing,& lotsa small misc. parts missing. Unless you have lotsa time, determination,AND a "full-blown" machine shop,I don't think I'd waste my time on this project. You would have to mill all new tuners, like the one shown,in addition to the missing 4th pedal. Also, this guitar requires a special screwdriver/nutdriver combo tool (which seems to be missing from the "package") to tune the pedals. In its "heyday",it was "state-of-the-art". THIS rig looks pretty ragged. One,just like this, was my 1st pedal steel back in the mid 50's.

do you think this could be played just as a 6 string console steel or would the pedal mechanism being all in pieces effect its ability to stay in tune, ect. ?

Under those circumstances,it just might work. Remove the cross-rod holding the pedals, take the pedals off,& replace the cross-rod. (for stability) It just might work as a "practice" or "experimental tuning" guitar. Since the "high bid" is $75,I would bid $76. You've got,at least, that in parts. But I wouldn't put any more $$ into it.
