Quadraverb Presets Upload

I changed the battery in my old quadraverb
(1990) and in the process lost all the presets. Alesis sent me the factory presets as an E-mail attachment however, they tell me that to upload the presets to the unit from my PC requires a MIDI connection and a program such as Bome's SendSX. Would someone please enlighten me as to what I really need and some pointers on how to do this. I'm not the brightest bulb on the string where MIDI is concerned. Any help is appreciated.
