Actually the volume has the push-pull not the selector knob. There is no tone pot on the stock guitar. that is of course unless you added a third control to the plate.
BTW. What a coincidence, I just gave a black one 10 minuits ago to my nephew who's Les Paul was burned up in the fires last month. Great guitars for the money. Very Happy

I added a Gibson style 3 way toggle in front of the volume control which is a full size 500k pot that I installed.
I moved the 500k push / pull pot to the back and rewired it as a tone control.
The stock wiring that has just a volume / push pull coil tap, and the weird rotary pickup selector and there is no tone control.
I've done this before on another Squire 51 that I had, it's a much better system IMO.
