I have the old metal case amp that I would like to get restored, because the previous owner had done some kludges to the circuit that are not working very well. This amp came with the 6 string black and white bakelite steel maybe as a student set

Also, I can not find any model number on the amp or chassis. It has three tubes, a 10 (or 12?) inch speaker, tone and volume controls. Late 40's early 50's vintage.

Any ideas on a source of schematic?

Thanx,
Jim

You might check with Rickenbacker. A few palces to check would be:

Knowing what tubes are in it may help determine what model it is. Is the speaker a Rola? I believed that the metal case types were pre-war amps.

You may try contacting "The Amp Shop" in West Palm Beach. Try to talk to the lady (I always forget her name). She is a real specialist and has worked twice on my Rickenbacher metal suite case amp (as well as the wooden Frypan amp and my '66 Fender Twin. She is very knowledgeable.

Just tell her "J-D. the steel guitarist" sent you and that you have the same amp I have. She will give you a honest opinion about her being able to help you or not.

Thanks for all the good info and leads. Once I can get the model and then the schematic, I will probably do the work myself.

Thanx,
Jim
