Based on the name of the technique I understand the basic concept of pick blocking, but I guess I really don't know how to do it.
Anybody got any practice exercises I could work on or maybe a run down of what finger blocks a note in relation to what finger picks a note, etc.?
I've heard the term a lot, but figured my palm blocking was working, but I'm starting to get into the C6th neck finally and it's becoming evident that it will be important for all those single note lines. Not to mention it's help for my E9 playing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Gabiel,
Go to Greg Cutshaw's web site. He explains it on there.
Greg has a lot of helpful hints there that will keep you busy for a long time. Larry |

Palm blocking sounds cleaner to me, But I think Boot Heal drag is a great c6th song that makes me pick block automatically. Same with B Bowman Hop. I think using chord grips alternating with single note makes me pickblock better (since you have a note sounding you cant just block all the strings with your palm). Hope that made sense. _________________ GFI D10, Fender Steel King, Hilton Vpedal,BoBro, National D dobro, Marrs RGS |

Thanks everyone. I checked out Greg Cutshaw's site and it was helpful. I'll work on the exercises there and see how it goes.
