My friend Barry Mazor is writing a book about Jimmie Rodgers, and asked if I could post something to this forum in case someone knows more.

I've been trying to pin something down (at least a little!) for my Rodgers book, and I'm wondering if you can point me in a useful direction.
It seems that in December 1933, there was a terrific session at Victor Bluebird where a duo named "Harold and Hazel" performing Rodgers songs; he played guitar, REALLY well, and she sings, pretty DARNED well. This same Harold, as Harold Maus, recoded several terrific guitar instrumental tracks at the same time--and its reported in discographies that there actually was no "Harold Maus," that it was a label name for Jim and Bob, Genial Hawaiians--and likely "Bob" playing the accomplished guitar on the sides with Hazel. (Who HAZEL is, there's no record at all!)
So Im wondering if among the steel aficionados, there are people who are particular Jim and Bob fans and authorities, enough, maybe, to have learned anything at all more than this about "Harold and Hazel," and their recordings of "T for Texas" (as "Texas", on the label) and "Never No More Blues" (as "Pack My Things" on the Bluebird label).
I've sent an enquiry to Malcolm Rockwell in hawaii, a the suggestion of another older music maven--but maybe I can get some other mind so this. It's for a chapter on women performing Rodgers music I'm finishing up right now. News of Harold Maus would be good, of "Hazel:" even better!
Thanks for any help.
