BW Speaker?? Help Mike Brown

What will cause one not to play? I have put a new jack and new wire on it and it plays for about 30 seconds perfect and then goes out and will not play at all for a long time. Then you can hear static of some kind for a second and it will then come back on. I can immediatley take the speaker cord out of the jack while the guitar is still ringing and my other speaker plays fine. Thanks for any help.
