I thought I'd try out my new Tribo-tone bar on the Bear Creek Weissenborn. Here's my mostly improvised arrangenment of California Dreamin in open D.
Yeah, I know, I could benefit from some up close and personal time with my friend, the metronome. I'm really loving this new bar; beautifully made and packaged and it really delivers on its promises.

Cool tune, I've got a "B weight" Tribo-tone and it's awesome.

Nice playing Andy! That's a pretty challenging tune. Lots of notes not normally played on the more "traditional" fare of tunes. Quite refreshing. I could learn a new phrase or two from this piece. Keep it up.

Thanks for the kind words. I love voicings that combine the bar with open strings. Figuring out how to get that ringing D minor in a D major tuning kind of opened up the tune for me and it fell togewther by ear pretty quickly. I posted most of the key chord voicings here on the Acoustic Guitar Forum:

This is the guy who inspired my arrangement. Michael plays great fingerstyle arrangements of 60s rock tunes with such relaxed flair and feeling.

On my best days I can sometimes get somewhat near the groove and feeling of players I admire but I'm usually not able to sustain it all the way through. Good to have goals, I guess.

Eric, your Tribo-tone bar is terrific. Thanks for making a product that really lives up to the hype. I may have to get a spare.
