I went on a Country gig Sat. nite and for the first time in 53 years left my Fender 1000 pedals home!!I've played some type of pedal steel on Country music since 1954. I brought out my D-8 Rick. using a C-6th on the inside neck and an A-6th with E-9th on outside neck. I use 7 string tunings. I installed an old lever/cam operated tuning changer gadget to get the A & E tunings on the same neck, just retuning the 2nd & 3rd strings and it worked out just fine !! I had to work a little harder but it was fun !! It's like having a 3 necker without the extra weight , saved myself from lugging an extra 25 lbs. I also am using a Crate 150 Power Block amp , saving another 25 lbs. My old back couldn't carry all the weight any more !! Life is exciting again !! Eddie "C" ( the old geezer )
