I have this old Electrovoice mic from the '60s but need a cable for it. Can anyone tell me what kind of cable it takes and where I can find one?
Thanks,
J'beaux

Thanks Bill. Looks like the cable costs more than the dang mic did. Oh well, inflation and all... |

It's a 'Slimair' Model 636. Jerry, I don't have a cable to show you the end. A cable is what I need to buy. Thanks. |

If it's a model 664, it's a dual impedance mic, pin 3&4 are for Lo Z. Pin 1&2 are Hi Z. You can use a 2 conductor shielded mic cable and make your own for a lot less than one alread made. Finding a connector for the cable shouldn't be a problem. |

Larry, thanks for all that wonderful detail but, as posted above, it is not a model 664; it is a model 636. |

Jim let me check around home I think I may still have one of those connectors kickin around. As far as cable any mic cable will work there is nothing trick about the setup of these mic's. If I have one I will send it to you no charge.

I found a spec sheet for the 636. Pins on the mic are the same as those of 644. Mic is also a dual Z. Hope this helps.

Boy you are some lucky Jim went home last night and walked right to self where I thought the connector would be and low and behold there it was. So now I just need to know if you want this wired for low Z with an XLR on the other end or do you want high Z with 1/4 inch on the other end of the cable????
Charlie
If you want to give me a call I'm in the office until noon today and my number is on the email i sent you. _________________ My NEW TUBE AMP CWT Amplifiers I build, JACKSON COMMEMORATIVE all wood 3&5, Fender Steel King Amp,Telonics pedal |

Hey Charlie, that's great. I replied to your email yesterday but maybe you didn't get it? I'd like it with Low-Z/XLR please.
Many thanks for your help!
