Is this a hardware store item or what? I don't recall every seeing any locally. What's it actually called in case they come up on eBay again?

Gary, those were originally made for carburator linkage I believe as that's what the older cars used and maybe the new ones still do. You'd probably be able to find them at a good auto parts store....JH in Va.

I just bought two at our local Napa auto parts store, about $3.00 bucks apiece.

They come in an assortment of sizes, so if your going to the auto parts store take an old one with you. [any way that's the best thing to do here in Kingman Az.] Laughing

Gary, you might try the auto parts stores. I am sure I saw these on the older carbeurator linkages. Also, I am sure I saw them on the linkage in the Cat loaders, bulldozers etc from my days operating those monstrosities.

Gary, right part type, but wrong size! Their smallest quick release appears to be 1/4 24. Depending on your guitar, you'll need either a 10 or an 8, not a 1/4"er.
