I don't know much about the builder but that is a nice looking original guitar. Too bad I already have 3. (And how did I end up with 3 pedal steels anyway?) _________________ Gary Shepherd

While I don't know much about the guitar the builder, Reg Diller, is a forum member. The keyless tuner design looks pretty interesting and I believe he said he modeled the changer after the old MSA. |

Maybe I'm missing something......but even though the seller states the changer uses a push/pull system, this sure looks like an all-pull guitar to me.
On the other hand, the seller has a pretty decent feedback rating w/ 100% satisfaction x 55 transactions. |

Definitely looks like an all-pull changer. Notice the adjustable, lower return springs on the under carriage photo. You wouldn't see these on a push-pull. |

I had the pleasure of owning this instrument for several years. I had sold my Kline to a fellow out there in California & needed a D-10 or S-12 U, Reg Diller kept telling me he was going to sell this one that he had built. I called Reg on the phone & said "remember you were going to bring this up to me"? I told him I was without a guitar and he and his son drove up from Greencastle Pa to my shop in Mt Savage Md and brought the guitar for me. I was a wonderful guitar to play, great E to Eb lever lock, just great tone. I had sold Reg an E66 pickup for it and it just sounded great. I cannot say enough about the quality of Reg Dillers work. Grant you, its a bit different, but so am I!! Heres a picture of me playing it with my halloween false teeth!! I would not be afraid to purchase any guitar that Reg Diller made, but the teeth, thats another story!!

Looks a real quality steel, possibly quite heavy. The Keyless head reminds me of a Williams keyless. There are many "one man" builders around the world. Many of them build really top notch guitars.

Does anyone agree this is "not for beginners"? I don't see that is any more or less complicated than any other steel. Well... maybe the 8 pedals. (BTW I am a newbie at PSG and shopping for a 1st instrument. If anyone wants to discuss that topic, feel free to contact me at davidjl@verizon.net!) |
