Overdrive ?

I needed a smaller amp than my Vegas 400 to carry around so I scarfed up a little GX80 Crate off the Bay for a hundred bucks in fair condition but it works fine,After I got it I looked it up on the Crate website to find outhow to use it and discovered it has an overdrive channel and lately I have been using it with everything turned way down, Surprising it makes a nice different steeley sound...Anybody else ever ever try this ?
